Therapist bio — fill-in template
If you are [describe the experience your ideal client is having — use their words, not clinical ones; two short sentences] — you are not alone, and you are not broken.

I help [describe the population you serve, e.g., adults who look high-functioning on the outside but feel relentlessly on edge underneath]. Sessions are [describe the feel — warm and direct / structured / collaborative]. We will [describe what you actually do together: name what is happening, build practical skills, look at underlying patterns, etc.].

I am a [your license — e.g., licensed psychologist, LCSW, LMFT] with [N] years of experience and specialized training in [primary modality or two]. Before I went into private practice, I [one sentence about formative training or population if relevant — community mental health, hospital, university counseling].

If you would like to know whether we are a fit, [clear single next step — e.g., schedule a free 15-minute consultation]. I respond within one business day.

Tips before you publish

  • Read it on your phone, not your laptop. That is where most prospective clients will see it.
  • Ask one trusted person outside the field to read it. If they cannot tell you who you help, rewrite paragraph one.
  • Update it once a year. Your practice will shift; your bio should follow.
